The fastest solution to experience that story is always to jump in using a free account and play through a variety of it, but I’m unclear that the free-to-play experience provides a solid idea of what the game is a lot like when you actually enroll in it. In fact, the most significant bummer about SWTOR’s free-to-play model isn’t its restrictions; it’s so it gives in a inaccurate impression of how the experience plays.
Of course, you will find pros and cons to merely jumping into the sport without dropping any cash on it. You can NOT make positive changes to character’s class or advanced class as soon as you choose it. You will only be able to reprogram your specialization within that advanced class, by way of example from DPS to healer chech here. This specialization is referred to as your combat proficiency every advanced class has three from which to choose. On a free to experiment with account, you will simply have access to playing three races - humans, cyborgs and zabraks. There’s a variety of ways to unlock another races - but each of them is difficult to do on the free to try out account. Your species won't have a major affect on the action, so choose the one that you're interested in the most. Subscribing unlocks more options, others could be unlocked through playing the overall game, while others like the Cathar and Togruta could only be purchased within the cartel market or using players with credits.
